Introduction
The minaret is one of the most iconic sites in city, and is located next to the ancient Djemaa El Fna souk. This is one of the first places I went after arriving in the city, and it was beautiful to look at. It’s also a good landmark to get your bearings in the city if you get lost.
About
The Minaret is part of the Koutoubia Mosque, which was built in the 1100s and is still in use today. It’s made of sandstone and built in an Almohad style.
